Scenarist Closed Captions is a subtitle format developed by Sonic Solutions. It is usually created by Broadcast captioning, DVD authoring.
CEA-608 caption bytes written as hex pairs next to SMPTE timecodes — you see '9420 9420' codes rather than words.
