Is OpenAnyFile really free?
Yes — no account, no trial, no watermark and no limits. Open as many files as you like.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Never. Your browser reads the file locally and renders it on your device. Nothing is sent, stored or logged anywhere.
Which file formats are supported?
More than 822 formats with dedicated pages, across documents, images, camera RAW, video, audio, archives, 3D and CAD, fonts, code, certificates, executables and more. Everything else opens in the universal inspector.
Can it open files with unknown or wrong extensions?
Yes. The real format is detected from the file's bytes. If nothing matches, the inspector shows its hex, signature, checksums and readable text.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit — or once installed as an app — the opener keeps working without internet for most formats. Some viewers download their decoder the first time they are used.
How do I install it as an app?
In Chrome or Edge, use the install icon in the address bar. On Android choose "Add to Home screen"; on iPhone tap Share → "Add to Home Screen".
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit — it depends on your device's memory. Video and audio stream at any size.
Can I open password-protected or DRM files?
No. Encrypted archives, protected PDFs and DRM books need their key. The inspector still shows what it can.
Can it convert or edit files?
It is a viewer first: you can read, inspect, verify and download. For editing, use the original application.
Is it safe to open suspicious files here?
Files are never executed. Executables, scripts and macros are only inspected as data, inside your browser's sandbox.
