What is a .heics file?
HEIF Image Sequence is an image format developed by MPEG / Apple, first released in 2017. It is usually created by iPhone bursts, animated HEIF exports.
The sequence flavour of HEIC: several HEVC-coded frames in one container. The first frame is decoded here as a still.
