LZMA Compressed File is an archive format developed by Igor Pavlov, first appearing in 1998. It is normally produced by 7-Zip, older Linux packages.

Look at the first bytes rather than the extension. A genuine LZMA begins with 5D 00 00. Opening the file in OpenAnyFile shows that signature in the file-details panel, so a file renamed to .lzma by mistake is easy to spot.
